Context
I joined the team building a digital fundraising platform for a major African food bank. The previous product collected donations and then went quiet — donors had no idea what their money did, and the alliance had no shared visual language across product, communication and brand. The goal was to close that loop and make every touchpoint feel like the same organisation.
Approach
I supported the team across design-system definition, new-feature design, user research sessions with donors and grant officers, and the brand book delivered to the client at the end. The flow is honest about fees, accessible by default, and the platform now hosts an impact feed updated by the recipients themselves — so donors can come back after the campaign closes and see what their money actually funded.
Outcome
The platform shipped with a documented design system and a brand book the alliance uses today to stay consistent across product, communication and partnerships. Donors return to the platform after donating to read the impact feed — a behaviour the previous tooling never produced.
